1. Secondary school music teacher
Responsibilities:
· In liaison with, and under guidance from the Head of Performing Arts Academy, plan and teach lessons and units of work in Middle School and Senior School.
· Work with the Head of Performing Arts to lead on the school’s choir programme and CCA that meet the needs and interests of students across the whole school.
· Enhance the quality of teaching and learning in Music and across the wider school through sharing resources and good practice.
· A strong commitment to coordinating and contributing to music events & activities organized by Performing Arts Academy.
· Ensure that safeguarding, health and safety, and all other College policies are known, understood and embedded into practice.
· Be responsible for planning and facilitating creative and engaging learning with students, in a nurturing and safe environment.
· Ensure that the learning environment is a place of full inclusivity, differentiating learning to support individual needs.
· Planning collaboratively, in the context of FCG Senior and Middle School curriculum, to build on student knowledge and expertise and emphasize connections between curriculum areas.
· Assess students learning and progress on an ongoing basis and use assessments to inform planning.
· Fill in Orders and Reports in accordance with guidelines.
· Have a keen focus on the approaches to learning taken by students, creating an engaging learning environment where they can learn independently, challenge their own thinking, think creatively and solve problems.
· Develop excellent relationships with parents and the wider community, through effective communication.
· Have and develop further a range of techniques to cater for English Language Learners.
· Challenge each student to be the best they can be, supporting them to reach their full potential.
· Be committed to the ongoing development of a holistic, student-centred curriculum, drawing on best practice from around the world.

· Participate fully in the life of the school, including any co-curricular activities.
· Do duties to supervise students during break time. Do evening prep duty to supervise and help boarders with homework once a week.
· Support school admissions and marketing events on weekends occasionally.
· Organize subject assembly to showcase student learning on request.
· Participate in school events such as parent meetings that may occur outside of normal working hours.
· Ensure classroom is an engaging learning space. Update the display regularly.
Professional Development:
· Engage in effective self- review of professional practice, within teams and with the support of the School Leadership Team.
· Participate in ongoing professional development including but not limited to IB workshops, subject teaching trainings, safeguarding trainings and etc.
· Show an awareness of current pedagogy and curriculum development in international education.
· Always aim to push the professional limits and to try something new.

Skills/qualifications:
· University degree with major in Music and a recognized teaching qualification (such as PGCE, BEd, MEd).
· A minimum of 2 years classroom experience.
· Passionate about working with students and an ability to engage them in the process of learning.
· Ability to listen to others (students, parents and colleagues) always showing respect for their ideas.
· Ability to proactively solve problems that arise.
· Be collaborative and able to work as part of a team.
· Excellent vocal or keyboard skills are preferred.
· An ability to promote each student’s learning through constant formative assessment within the classroom.
· Strong organization skills.
· Effective use of ICT in all aspects of learning and teaching.
· Understanding and commitment to safeguarding children.
· Involvement in co-curricular programmes.
· Experience of working in an international school is preferred.
