Working in partnership is a key theme at strategic and operational levels at FCG, enabling us to fulfil our mission to deliver the best of Chinese and western education.
The FCG co-teaching model is made possible thanks to agenerous staff to student ratio and high number of expat staff. This integrated approach toteaching involving cross cultural and language influences gives our students diverse opportunities to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Not only does effective pastoral care support students in their natural progression but also facilitates the development of their self-esteem, social skills, and ability to cope with stress. It is vital that students feel safe and valued in their school environment and pastoral care can help facilitate this.
In the boarding house our students learn valuable life skills such as resilience, timekeeping, self-motivation and tolerance. Modelled on Fettes College UK, our approach builds independence throughout a student' s time in FCG boarding with a particular emphasis on acquiring the skills required for living at university and integrating with people from different cultures.
