As spring arrives, it’s the perfect time to embrace healthy habits and start the new semester with vitality. This guide offers practical tips for spring exercise and nutrition, helping student build a strong body and stay energized.
Spring Fitness: Exercise Scientifically
Mild spring weather is ideal for outdoor activities, such as morning jogs or brisk walks in the schoolyard, team sports like basketball and soccer, outdoor yoga or stretching, and cycling around the school neighbourhood. After the winter break, the body needs to adapt gradually: do light exercises for 20-30 minutes daily in Weeks 1-2, move up to moderate-intensity workouts for 30-45 minutes daily in Weeks 3-4, and stick to varied regular exercises from Week 5 onwards. Our school has also launched exclusive exercise plans this semester: morning exercise time from 9:10 to 10:00 every morning and CCA courses with rich physical education content.
Spring Nutrition: Eat Healthily
Spring is a critical growth period for teenagers. Balanced nutrition supports physical development and cognitive function. Protein is key for muscle repair—include lean meat, fish, eggs, beans and dairy in your diet. Calcium boosts bone health, found in milk, cheese and leafy greens. Complex carbohydrates provide sustained energy, such as brown rice, whole-wheat bread, fruits, vegetables and oats. Stay hydrated by drinking enough water throughout the day, carrying a water bottle to school and cutting down on sugary drinks.
Safety Tips: For Both Exercise and Diet
Warm up before exercise and cool down after. Wear proper clothes and shoes, exercise within your limits, stay hydrated during workouts and use sports equipment correctly. For diet, eat regularly, have a balanced mix of foods, control portions and read food labels carefully. Consult healthcare professionals for special dietary needs.
Health is a lifelong journey. Small, consistent efforts in exercise and diet will steadily improve your physical condition. May everyone stay active and eat well this spring, and have a vibrant new semester!
