1. Summary Statement
FCG is committed to:
- Providing a safe and secure environment for all those who come into contact with our school.
- Promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk.
- Preventing and responding to abuse, neglect, or harm in a timely and effective manner.
- Ensuring that all staff and volunteers are trained and supported to promote the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk, and to identify and respond to safeguarding concerns.
- Complying with all relevant legislation and regulations relating to safeguarding and child protection.
2. Implementation
In order to implement this policy, our school will:
- Ensure that all staff and volunteers are subject to rigorous recruitment and selection procedures, including appropriate checks of criminal records and background checks that are completed by HR.
- Provide training and support for all staff and volunteers to promote awareness of safeguarding issues and to ensure that they are able to identify and respond to safeguarding concerns.
- Develop and implement clear policies and procedures for safeguarding and child protection, including procedures for reporting and responding to safeguarding concerns.
- Ensure that all staff and volunteers are aware of their roles and responsibilities with regard to safeguarding and child protection, and that they understand how to report concerns.
- Monitor and review our safeguarding policies and procedures on an ongoing basis to ensure that they remain effective and up to date with changing safeguarding standards and legislation.
3. Roles and Responsibilities
All staff and volunteers have a responsibility to:
- Promote the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk.
- Report any concerns or suspicions of abuse, neglect, or harm in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Comply with all relevant safeguarding policies and procedures.
SLT members have a responsibility to:
-Ensure that all staff and volunteers are aware of their roles and responsibilities with regard to safeguarding and child protection.
- Ensure that all staff and volunteers receive appropriate training and support to promote the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk.
- Ensure that all safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented effectively and consistently across the organization.
- Respond appropriately to any concerns or suspicions of abuse, neglect, or harm.
4. Monitoring and Review
Our school will monitor and review this policy on an ongoing basis to ensure that it remains effective and up-to-date with changing safeguarding standards and legislation. Any concerns or issues that arise relating to safeguarding will be reported to senior management and dealt with appropriately.
