As the new semester begins, our middle school is brimming with energy and vitality. During the first week of school, a series of vibrant and enriching activities helped students quickly adapt to the rhythm of the new semester, embracing upcoming challenges and opportunities with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.

On the orientation day, students participated in a “Campus Exploration” activity. With punch-in maps in hand, they eagerly roamed every corner of the campus. They explored the library’s abundant book collections, the precision instruments in the laboratories, and the wide expanse of the sports field. They witnessed the shimmering waters of the swimming pool, the fun of the ski slope, and the galloping scenes at the equestrian field. Through this interactive experience, students became familiar with every part of the campus. For new students especially, the campus no longer felt unfamiliar but rather full of curiosity and excitement, laying a solid foundation for their future school life.

This Monday, all new and returning students gathered together for a grand opening ceremony. During the event, the school presented certificates to students who won awards in the FCG Summer Microfilm Competition, showcasing their creativity and talents. Other students who excelled in various summer competitions also joyfully took the stage for group photos, their faces beaming with pride and happiness. Additionally, through a series of exciting videos displayed on the big screen, students got a glimpse of their peers’ enriching summer learning experiences as well as the training and team-building activities of their teachers. All of this fostered a sense of warmth and unity within the school community, igniting dreams and hope for the new academic year.

To help students better understand the school’s expectations and the honours they could earn, Middle School held an assembly. Teachers explained in detail the academic goals, behavioral standards, and various reward systems for MS. Students gained a clear understanding of the direction they should strive toward in both study and daily life. Inspired and motivated, they expressed their determination to work hard in the new semester to achieve excellent results and earn honours.

“Remember history, forge ahead! Love China, strive for self-improvement!” Middle School organised students to watch the live broadcast of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The grand parade was awe-inspiring, and students were deeply moved, expressing heartfelt admiration and pride for their country. With reverence, they watched the uniform formations, advanced weaponry, and high morale on display. The experience gave students a profound sense of China’s strength and prosperity, stirred their patriotic feelings and national pride, and deepened their appreciation for today’s peaceful life. It also inspired them to study hard and contribute to the future of their country.

To better understand students’ academic levels, baseline tests were conducted this week in Chinese, English, and Mathematics. These assessments helped teachers gain deeper insights into each student’s knowledge base and learning abilities, enabling them to tailor their teaching plans and guidance more effectively. Meanwhile, students were able to identify their strengths and areas for improvement, allowing them to focus their efforts and enhance their learning in a targeted way moving forward.

The first week of the new semester has come to a successful close. Through various activities, students have demonstrated a positive mindset and an admirable enthusiasm for learning. With the dedicated guidance of their teachers and their own diligent efforts, we believe the junior high students will continue to make great strides, achieve outstanding results, and realise their dreams in the journey ahead!
