Recently, students in Grades 6 to 8 successfully completed their mid-semester assessments in Individual & Society and History. These tests comprehensively evaluated students' understanding and mastery of ancient and modern Chinese and world history from the first half of the semester, demonstrating their solid knowledge foundation and strong academic competence.
G6 Ancient Civilization
In Individual & Society, G6 students systematically learned the five major ancient civilizations: Egypt, Mesopotamia, India, China, and Greece. The test covered the origins, political systems, cultural heritage, and influences of these civilizations. Through comparative analysis, students deepened their understanding of the diversity and interconnectedness of early human civilizations.
G7 Society Innovation
The G7 Chinese Ancient History test covered topics from human origins and early agriculture to the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties, with a focus on the social transformations and the "Hundred Schools of Thought" during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. Students demonstrated a systematic understanding of early Chinese civilization and critical thinking regarding its intellectual evolution.
G8 War and Peace
The G8 Modern Chinese History test included the Opium Wars, the Taiping Rebellion, the Self-Strengthening Movement, and the Sino-Japanese War of 1894. By analyzing these key events, students organized their understanding of China's challenging transition into the modern era and reflected on the nation’s destiny and historical choices.
The mid-semester assessments not only evaluated students' knowledge acquisition but also enhanced their skills in historical analysis and logical expression. We hope students continue to draw wisdom from history and achieve even greater progress in the coming months!
