Recently, our EY2 class carried out a fun story exploration activity based on the picture book Who Bit My Pancake? The children engaged in understanding and performing the story, followed by hands-on investigation and reasoning, diving deep into the fun and mystery of the tale.

Guide by the teachers, the children first lisented to the story: the little pig wakes up to find a bite taken out of this pancake and asks each animal around him. Through role-playing and reenacting the scenes, the children not only became familiar with the story but also experienced the little pig's serach for the truth, initially noticing the characteristics of each animal's bite marks.

To find out who really bit the pancake, the children embarked on a careful investigation:

Observation and Comparison: They closely observed the shape of the bite marks left by each animal in the book. During the “Pancake Sharing Activity,” they compared and analyzed the clues one by one.

Hands-on Verification: The children created their own tooth models. By repeatedly comparing the models with the bite marks on the pancake and reasoning through the evidence, they gradually narrowed down the “suspects” and successfully solved the mystery.

Throughout the activity, the children showed great interest and concentration. Through observing, comparing, hands-on making, and cooperating with peers, they not only practised logical reasoning but also improved their language expression and inquiry skills. We look forward to seeing the children maintain this curiosity and discover more joy through exploration!
