EY | EY1 On the Farm

As our new UOI theme kicks off, the little ones in EY1 have become "little farmers", exploring a lively farm full of discovery.
This week, our first farm adventure took us to the FCG equestrian centre where we met some horses: the children carefully held carrots and apples to feed the horses. We watched as the horses munched happily. Some children even gently stroked the horses’ soft fur!
Back in the classroom, the children explored the texture of other animals fur. We particularly enjoyed using the soft white cotton, fluffy and soft, just like sheep’s fur.
The little ones also planted their own small plants. We carefully put soil into pots, placed the seeds gently and will continue to water them. We are excited to watch them as they grow!
These hands on activities provided plenty of opportunity to practise new English vocab while we learnt about farm life. These activities helped us to learn about how to care for small animals and plants. These real experiences piqued our interest and planted seeds of curiosity that we are excited to explore during this UOI.
