Last week, the children embarked on an exciting educational journey, brimming with anticipation, as they boarded the school bus under the radiant sunshine. Our destination was the enchanting Fengxing Xianquan Lake Dairy Farm, where the vibrant atmosphere of Cow Town awaited their eager exploration into the captivating realm of cows!
The children meticulously put on the antimicrobial suits, along with head covers, boots, and masks, attentively heeding the entrance instructions. Following the thorough aseptic disinfection process, the children stepped into the spacious and well-lit barn. The tour guide introduced the children to different breeds of cows and their living environment.
Delve Deeper into the World of Cows
They learned that a cow produces milk equivalent to four months' consumption for a person in a single day. They also encounter calves ranging from two months to six months old. These adorable little calves were younger than the children, yet significantly larger in size. Filled with curiosity, the children observed them closely. The chance to interact with cows up close provided an excellent opportunity for the children to explore and learn about animals.
The tour guide further introduced the children to the daily life of cows, including their shelter and feeding practices. They learned about the care and feeding routines of cows. Additionally, they discovered that the diet of cows plays a crucial role in the taste of milk. Different types of grass can create various flavours of milk, which was truly fascinating to them!
Children gained knowledge about the diverse history of dairy farming around the world and learned about modern farming techniques. Through interactive exhibits, they witnessed different breeds of cows and their characteristics. They also discovered the production process of dairy products, from the dairy farm to the dining table.
The most anticipated part - tasting fresh milk! Through a milk nutrition class, the children learned about the nutritional value and benefits of milk while savoring the delicious beverage. They expressed their enthusiasm for drinking more milk in the future to become stronger and healthier!
In this educational excursion, the children not only acquired knowledge about cows and milk but also experienced the joy of connecting with nature. We hope children will maintain their enthusiasm for exploration and curiosity about the world throughout their whole learning journey.
