In the three weeks since the beginning of this semester, we have finished studying the statistics part of IGCSE Mathematics 0580, and are currently talking about probability. We learned how to collect and organise data, as well as how to analyse and interpret it. We learned how to calculate statistics such as mean, median, range, and standard deviation. For extended class, we also learned how to draw statistical charts such as histograms and box and whisker plots.
In addition to classroom learning, we also organised students to register for the Kangaroo Math Competition and the Waterloo Math Competition. These competitions provide practical opportunities for students to apply the mathematical knowledge and skills they have learned. Participating in competitions can not only exercise mathematical thinking and problem-solving abilities, but also stimulate students' interest and enthusiasm for mathematics.
