In this semester, ninth-grade students mainly study optics and electricity. This week, they are exploring the characteristics of convex lens imaging and the relationship between object distance and image distance.

Through theoretical deduction and experimental exploration, the students have reached the final conclusion: 1/f = 1/u + 1/v.

Some students were amazed to discover during the exploration that when a convex lens forms a real image, we can actually observe two reduced images on the side where the light source is located. What is the principle behind this?

In the study of physics, we encourage students to gain knowledge through experimental exploration. Inquiry-based learning is not only about imparting concepts and theories but also emphasizes active student participation and discovery.

Regular Track Teaching:

For Grade10: The teaching of the entire IGCSE syllabus has been completed. Currently, students are practicing questions in preparation for the exams, and a detailed review plan has been devised for them. The practice is focused according to the exam dates of Paper 2, Paper 4, and Paper 6.

For Grade11: The teaching of the entire AS Level syllabus has been completed. Currently, students are practicing questions in preparation for the exams, and a detailed review plan has been devised for them. Unlike the Grade10, the 11th grade involves experimental operations. The students have been provided with the experimental apparatus used in past real exams for practice. Practice is also focused according to the exam dates of Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3.

For Grade12: The teaching of the entire A Level syllabus has been completed. Currently, students are practicing questions in preparation for the exams. A detailed plan will also be formulated based on the actual situation of the exams to enhance practice.

In the second week of this semester, the 10th and 11th graders of the SS achieved good results from BPhO: Grade 10: 2 gold, 4 silver, 4 bronze; Grade 11: 2 gold, 1 silver, 5 bronze.

In addition, more than a month of training and coaching was provided for the 10th and 11th graders participating in the American Physics Cup (also known as the "Physics Bowl"), and the examination was completed on March 20th. The results will be announced in May. Let's us look forward to the good news!
