During G3 UOI, students are challenged to develop their knowledge acquisition and beneficial life skills called Approaches to Learning. These skills include research, thinking, communication, social and self-management skills respectively and are taught through our various inquiries. We have seen the learners produce some amazing work pieces and presentations to show their learning during classroom and outdoor inquiry projects. They have also grown in determination and grit . They are now able to follow project instruction from start to the end with simple guidance of teachers, it’s obvious evidence of a great development in improving their self-management ATL.

During the unit How the World Works, students followed their shadows during the day observing the Earth rotation around the Sun. As a conclusion they had to think about and demonstrate their understandings in different ways. A large amount of thinking and collaborative work was displayed. The wonderful learning outcomes were witnessed by many parents who attended the Learning Assembly. The students should be highly praised for their hard work and dedication to a wonderful presentation. Through this experience, a great development in their social and communication skills was further improved.

Currently the students are inquiring into the wonderful world of different habitats that host living things and were excited to explore their school environment in search of the biodiversity that lurks in our surroundings. With iPads in tow, they set around campus and took many snaps of the insects, plant life and animal life around the campus and completed this task by incorporating technology as they made a labeled collage of their findings on Notes using their iPad.
