In this semester's mathematics exploration, students in the Whale Class have engaged in a series of interesting and enriching activities.

The Little Whales embarked on "The Mission of Addition" and gained a foundational understanding of adding to 10.  Using smartboard animation, the children explored various ways to make 10 by manipulating numicon and number blocks. Throughout this process, the children discovered that 10 can be represented in multiple combinations (such as 5 and 5, 3 and 7, etc.). This activity also allowed them to improve their hands-on and logical thinking abilities.

Following this, the Little Whales explored subtraction within 10 through a variety of games like Ten Pin Bowling, Caterpillar’s Body, Sharks in Jars, Candies in a Cupcake, and more.

During their mathematics adventure, the Whales have had fun, exploring the mysteries of numbers, attempt to express equations in English, deepening their understanding of mathematical operations,  all the while improving their mathematical ability.

The Little Whales' marvelous mathematics journey will continue and we look forward to them shining brightly in their numerical wonderland!
