With the cold wind blowing in, the EY3 children started a new exploration into the theme of natural phenomena. We followed “The Curious Polar Bear” to the snow-covered Arctic, started our journey into nature with Mum polar bear. First, we saw the sunlight, the ocean, icebergs, and the Northern Lights. In the end, the little polar bear found that wherever they went, there were footprints. The mum polar bear told him that those were the marks they had made! After the story was over, the children played a game sorting things  from the story into “natural phenomena” and “not natural phenomena”. The children then shared what they knew about natural phenomena  through drawings.

The children then did a hands-on practical scientific exploration of a  natural phenomenon by making a “water tornado”! The children carefully put the materials into the bottles and spun the bottles hard. A small man-made tornado whooshed up in the bottles! The children were lost in the endless joy, and wonder at their child-made mini tornados!
