This month our unit of inquiry focuses on "My Journey". We explored the concept of travel and compared historical travel to modern travel.
We started by discussing what travel means, using key vocabulary such as "journey," "map," and our sight word "go." Students enjoyed creating popsicle stick photo frames to showcase their best holiday moments and illustrated places they have visited.
We delved into different modes of transportation—cars, planes, boats, and more. Through drawings, students expressed how we travel.
Understanding why we travel led to discussions about traveling for fun and work, with students creating postcards highlighting their favourite destinations and famous places around the world.
Finally, we explored what we need to travel. Students learned essential vocabulary like "suitcase" and "passport," engaging in activities that included making their own passports and discussing what to pack for a journey.
