Grade 9 BTEC

In recent weeks, our Grade 9 BTEC Business groups have been working on completing their first assignment for Unit 18, which focuses on promotion and branding within businesses. As part of this task, students carried out in-depth research into two retail businesses of their choice and produced a detailed comparative report analysing the different promotional methods used to support business growth and expansion. This focus has not only deepened their understanding of marketing strategies, but has also helped them develop valuable transferable skills such as research, critical thinking, and report writing – all of which are essential for future academic and professional success.

Grade 10 BTEC Business

Since September, our Grade 10 BTEC Business students have successfully completed Units 1, 2, and 3, and are now working through their final unit, Unit 4, which explores the role and function of marketing within a business. Students have developed a strong understanding of how businesses identify the needs and wants of consumers and how this insight informs key business decisions. In the coming weeks, they will apply their knowledge through coursework assignments by analysing a given case study and developing both a marketing plan and a formal presentation. This unit not only consolidates their learning from earlier topics but also equips them with practical skills in strategic thinking, planning, and communication.

Grade 9 IGCSE

Grade 9 students are currently working on the final unit of the academic year, which focuses on marketing. They have explored the role and purpose of marketing within a business alongside the various objectives it aims to achieve. Since September, there has also been a strong focus on developing exam technique to support students in reaching their full potential in the midsemester examinations. We are pleased to report that overall progress has been very encouraging with many students demonstrating growing confidence, improved understanding, and greater engagement with the subject.

Grade 10 IGCSE

Grade 10 students have now begun their final end-of-year examinations. Throughout the year, they have demonstrated strong commitment and determination in preparing for these assessments. Their studies have covered a broad range of topics from the Cambridge IGCSE Business Studies specification, including business activity, enterprise, marketing, human resources, operations management, and finance. There has been a particular emphasis on understanding how theoretical knowledge applies to real-world business contexts as well as refining exam technique to build confidence and accuracy under timed conditions. Students have consistently engaged in practice questions, peer discussions, and structured revision activities to consolidate their learning. We are proud of their efforts and look forward to seeing the results of their hard work.

Grade 12 A-Level

The Grade 12 students have now entered the final stage of their A-Level Business Studies journey as they sit their end-of-year examinations. Over the past year, they have demonstrated a strong work ethic and intellectual curiosity in tackling the demands of the Cambridge A Level syllabus. Their studies have explored advanced business concepts, including strategic decision-making, financial performance, organisational culture, and the external business environment. Lessons have placed a strong emphasis on developing evaluative skills, constructing balanced arguments, and applying theoretical frameworks such as Porter’s Five Forces and Ansoff’s Matrix to complex case scenarios. In preparation for their final assessments, students have engaged in structured essay practice, timed exam simulations, and detailed feedback sessions.
