In the thematic inquiry unit of "How to Express Oneself", children launched an exploration of "symbols" and stepped into the world of Braille together, experiencing how people with visual impairments "read" through touch.
Children use their hands to feel the textures of different objects and read books about "black" together--in the dark, they "see" the illustrations of stories with their fingertips, experiencing how touch conveys meaning.
Deeply touched, the children also made Braille name tags by hand, transforming their names into raised symbols to express themselves in a special way
In the uneven world of Braille, children have touched the most profound truth: every way of perceiving the world is a unique poem of life.
