AP 2D Art and Design

Students in AP 2D Art and Design are currently engaged in their Sustained Investigation based on the theme “Human vs Nature.” This inquiry-driven studio practice encourages students to explore the complex relationship between human activity and the natural world through personal, visual responses. As a starting point, students conducted visual research and brainstorming to develop individual concepts, focusing on conflict, coexistence, destruction, resilience, and harmony between humans and nature.

Through painting, students explored layered surfaces, expressive mark-making, and imaginative imagery to communicate their perspectives. Each artwork marks the beginning of a cohesive body of work that will evolve over time, showing growth in technical skill, conceptual depth, and artistic voice. This early stage of the Sustained Investigation highlights students’ willingness to take creative risks, reflect on feedback, and develop meaningful visual narratives connected to global and contemporary issues surrounding humanity’s relationship with nature.

IGCSE Art and Design

IGCSE艺术与设计

In the IGCSE Art coursework, students develop their ideas through continuous experimentation and creative exploration. They begin by researching chosen themes in depth, gathering visual references from real-life observation, photographs, artist studies, and cultural sources. This research helps students understand different styles, techniques, and ways of expressing ideas. Students then explore a wide range of materials and processes, such as drawing, painting, mixed media, and printmaking, to discover which methods best support their concepts.

Through experimentation with colour, line, texture, form, and tone, students gradually build technical skills and visual confidence. They test different compositions, viewpoints, and layouts, learning how to create balance, contrast, and strong focal points.

A-Level Art and Design


Despite their demanding academic schedules, oue A-Level students have excelled in three prestigious international art competitions. They stood out in the preliminary round of the Kentucky International Youth Art Competition in the United States, the Louvre International Art Exhibition (Eiffel Tower Award), and the Hans Christan Andersen International Art Awards. Collectively, they have garnered mutiple honors, including gold and silver medals,as well as first and second prizes.

BTEC Art and Design


Our Year 11 BTEC students are fully immersed in the design and creative practice of their first major art project. In response to their diverse subject choices, we’ve implemented personalized teaching strategies, offering one-on-one guidance to help each student build a solid foundation in their chosen art discipline and develop a structured framework of professional knowledge. Meanwhile, our Year 12 BTEC students are in the final stages of completing their art portfolios. At this point, the filming of their portfolio showreels has been successfully completed. Witnessing their creative efforts come to life has been both rewarding and inspiring. We are immensely proud of their progress and sincerely wish each of them success in receiving offers from their dream universities during the application season.
