PS | Do I Have the Right to Control My Mum? - Grade 3 UOI "Who We Are"

Grade 3 students have spent the last few weeks learning about our first UOI "Who We Are",the central idea is: People identify their rights and responsibilities to make choices. The concepts of this unit are Change, Perspectives and Responsibilities. Students carried out ‘inquiry learning’ through these lines of inquiry: 1. People's rights and responsibilities in different places; 2. How people know their rights; and 3. How people make choices in their daily lives.

三年级在过去的几周中正在学习第一个超学科探究主题“我们是谁”, 中心思想是:人们通过识别他们的权利和责任来做选择。我们的重要概念是“变化、观点、责任”,学生们围绕三个线索进行探究学习:1.人们在不同场所的权利和责任; 2.人们如何了解自己的权利; 3.人们怎样在日常生活中做选择。

Tuning In前期评价

We began the unit by discussing "What rights do I have?" "What rights don’t I have?" "What are my responsibilities?" Students expressed a lot of their opinions about these questions and our learning began with these questions.

单元开始时,我们通过讨论“我有权利做什么?”“我没有权利做什么?”“我有什么责任?”等问题,表达了各种各样的想法。学生们带着好奇开始了第一单元的探究学习。

Finding out & Sorting out

As Chinese citizens, what kind of rights do we have? Are everyone's rights the same? Are the rights and responsibilities of children different from those of adults? Students used the school library, MyOn online library, etc. to look for relevant books on this topic. They also used iPads to search for relevant information on the Internet. Both the students’ social and research skills were developed through this stage by working together to research their topics.

作为一个中国公民,我们享有怎样的权利呢?每个人的权利是不是一样的?儿童的权利与责任和大人的是不一样的吗?学生利用学校图书馆、MyOn网络图书馆等渠道查找相关书籍,也使用平板工具搜索相关资料,不仅锻炼了探索能力,也让社交技在小组合作学习中得到了提高。

Going Further & Making Conclusions

深入探究与得出结论

The students were divided into groups and created different scenarios to be role-played. We discussed what kind of rights, responsibilities, choices could be made, and their consequences in these scenarios. People's rights and responsibilities allow us to think more comprehensively and make more reasonable choices based on the conditions available.

同学们分成了多个小组,根据不同的情景进行角色扮演,并讨论在这样的情境中,不同的角色拥有什么样的权利与责任,不同的选择及其后果。权利与责任让孩子们思考得更全面,学会根据现有的条件做出合理的选择

Taking Actions采取行动

As we come to the end of this unit, we have been exploring and understanding the central idea that we have rights and responsibilities, and thinking about the relationships between them so that we can make better choices. Our students demonstrated the IB learners’ profile by being caring, open-minded and reflective.

本单元课程即将结束,我们在探究的过程中理解了本单元的中心思想:我们享有权利,同时承担责任,思考两者之间的关系从而做出更好的选择。在这个单元的探究学习中,学生们展示出了“懂得关爱、胸襟开阔、及时反思”的IB学习者品质。
