What is disciplinary thinking? Put simply, disciplinary thinking refers to the way experts in a particular field view the world. Scientific thinking is the cognitive approach employed by scientists to understand natural phenomena. In comparison to other disciplines, scientific thinking places special emphasis on facts, logic, the acquisition of evidence through observation and experimentation, and the establishment of viewpoints and theories based on rigorous reasoning.

In our science classes, we strive to create a relatively authentic context where children can continuously explore and understand nature, satisfying their curiosity. At the same time, they discover more questions they want to know the answers to, generating new curiosity. Science class is all about keeping the cycle of curiosity going.

In investigating a natural phenomenon, apart from observation, group cooperation and division of tasks are also vital aspects. By assigning various roles within the group, children work together to complete an inquiry task, and when encountering challenges, they communicate in a reasonable manner, showcasing the learner profile of Inquirers, Communicators and Caring.
