The EY4 Eagles wrapped up October with a celebration of their favourite stories. Alice in Wonderland, the Cat in the Hat, and The Treasure Chest were some of the highlights that the students enjoyed reading.

Students shared their after-school reading experiences with us through pictures and narrations, emphasising the importance of reading to build a sharp mind and strong language skills. As part of the FCG Language and Culture Festival, EY4 performed the Gingerbread Man to showcase their talent in creating scripts, singing, and acting. This event fostered a strong sense of confidence, creativity, and collaboration within EY4.

Parents also took the initiative to share fun stories with the students, reminding them of the importance of being polite and helpful.

Students from middle school joined EY for a storytelling session. This act of kindness created a strong sense of inclusion amongst FCG students despite their age differences.

Happy Endings for the Gingerbread Man

While most fairy tales have fixed endings, students decided to add their unique perspective to the story, including two little fairies who helped the Gingerbread Man become a real boy.

Students had also learned the importance of being kind, caring, and helpful, which prompted them to change the ending of the story, stopping the Gingerbread Man from being eaten and making the fox the hero that helped rescue the ''yummy little cookie'' who ran away.

We witnessed children immersed in the wonderful world of language and words, experiencing the charm and power of language. Through reading, writing, performing, playing, and exploring various languages and cultures around the world, we cultivate children's language abilities, broaden our perspectives, and foster respect and inclusivity towards cultural diversity.

HAVE FUN
