We wanted to take a moment to share the wonderful experiences and achievements of EY1 students over the past two weeks. It has been a joyous and productive time as we explored the themes of occupations and transportation, fostering a love for learning and sparking their curiosity.

During our exploration of occupations, EY1 students delved into the world of rescue vehicles, learning about their different parts and the materials they are made of. Through engaging in activities and discussions, they gained valuable knowledge about these vehicles' functions and their crucial role in saving lives. Additionally, songs like “The Wheels on the Bus” and “The Fire Truck Song” brought joy and laughter to our classroom, fostering a sense of harmony and delight.

One of the highlights of our occupational exploration was the role-playing activities, where children got to experience being doctors and nurses. They took turns 'visiting' a pediatric ward and caring for sick dolls, administering injections and putting on plasters. These activities not only nurtured their empathy and understanding of healthcare professions but also enhanced their fine motor skills. It was heartwarming to witness their dedication and enthusiasm as they took on these roles with great care and compassion.

Another popular activity during this period was pretend play as bus drivers. Our little ones eagerly took turns being the driver, further developing their social skills and understanding the importance of cooperation and taking turns. They embraced the responsibility of being in the driver's seat, immersing themselves in imaginative journeys and adventures. It was a joy to witness their excitement and the sense of empowerment they experienced during this activity.

In our STEM classes, we engaged in an exciting exploration of magnet forces through the fearless role of firefighters. Our children learned how magnets are used to rescue people from fires, and they also made magnetic bottles themselves. They were investigating the scientific principles behind these operations. This hands-on experience help enhanced their knowledge of magnetism and nurtured their problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.

For further inquiry, the children embraced their inner detectives as they took on the roles of police officers , forensic pathologyists and scientists. They investigated a criminal case involving a stolen letter. Through this engaging activity, they honed their problem-solving abilities and nurtured their critical thinking skills.
