MS|Unleashing Students' Creativity in Design Class: Sparking Imagination with AI-Generated Technology

The introduction of AI-generated technology has sparked a wave of imagination in the field of education, revolutionizing the way students learn. At the Middle Years Programme (MYP) design curriculum offers an exhilarating exploration of AI technology to foster creativity and unleash the full potential of our students' imagination.


AI Composer

In Grade 8 Design classes, students embark on a diverse journey that empowers them to create captivating musical compositions using AI-assisted approaches. By immersing themselves in the process of producing their own musical works, students unlock boundless creative possibilities and develop imagination with AI-assisted approaches.  At the culmination of this unit, they witness power of AI, as they create unique compositions and delve into the realm of imagination while working on their online musical blogger projects.


Virtual Me

In grade 7, our students embark on an exciting journey of self-discovery by harnessing AI technology to create personalized avatars that represent their virtual and real selves. Through game-based learning, they explore social connections and the implications associated with personal avatars. This experience cultivates creative thinking skills and inspires design enhancements to existing media and technologies, bridging the gap between the virtual and real worlds.


Control System

In Grade 6, we introduce the concept of control systems and emphasize its relevance to daily life. Students actively engage in designing tennis-fetching robots, applying their existing knowledge to embrace new technologies. As they progress through the unit, students develop a deeper understanding of how control systems impact their lives and enhance their problem-solving abilities.


Bilingual Language Environment 


To create a language immersive environment, we implement a dynamic approach to introducing subject-specific terminology. By utilizing Quizlet, a powerful learning tool, we track students' progress and understanding. As a culminating activity, students collaboratively create word mats, visually representing the vocabulary and concepts they have learned. This immersive language learning, combined with visual representation, deepens students' understanding and application of subject-specific terminology in the design field.


By unleashing students' creativity through AI-generated technology and implementing different approach of learning strategies, we nurture students’ passion for design, as they explore new horizons, develop critical thinking skills, and become problem solvers in an ever-evolving technological landscape.
