Last Saturday, Early Years School hosted a highly anticipated mid-semester Parent-Teacher Meeting, which proved to be an enriching experience for both parents and teachers. The event provided a unique opportunity for parents to gain valuable insights into their child's learning journey and witness the vibrant and engaging educational environment we create for our students across different age groups from EY1 to EY4.

The event began with an informative workshop chaired by our dedicated expat homeroom teachers. Parents eagerly gathered in the respective classroom, where they were warmly welcomed and introduced to the objectives of the meeting. The workshop aimed to provide parents with an overview of our literacy curriculum, teaching strategies, and the developmentally appropriate activities we have provided. The teachers shared valuable insights into the methods used to foster a love for learning, promote social-emotional development, and stimulate cognitive growth in our young learners.

Following the workshop, parents were given the opportunity to visit their child's classroom. Different learning stations were set up throughout the classrooms, showcasing various aspects of our curriculum.

At the language station, parents learned how teachers engaged the children in interactive literacy activities, encouraging their language development and nurturing their phonetic skills. They were impressed by the wide range of age-appropriate books and resources available to enhance literacy skills.

The maths station showcased hands-on activities that promoted numeracy skills and problem-solving abilities. Parents watched with delight as their children eagerly participated in counting games, sorting exercises, and shape recognition tasks. The engaging learning materials and supportive guidance provided by the teachers were evident in the children's enthusiasm and confidence.

The Unit of Inquiry (UOI) station captivated parents' attention as they witnessed their children’s work in exploratory activities related to the current UOI theme. From different experiments, the children demonstrated their curiosity and eagerness to learn about the world around them. Parents were impressed by the teachers' ability to integrate various subject areas and create meaningful and transdisciplinary learning experiences.

The arts station showcased the children's creativity and self-expression through paintings, drawings, and crafts. Parents marvelled at the colourful displays adorning the walls and admired the teachers' ability to foster a nurturing environment that encouraged artistic exploration and individuality.

A particularly heartwarming moment came when the children took centre stage to share their learning stories. With beaming smiles, they presented their projects, artwork, and shared their newfound knowledge with pride. Parents were filled with pride and joy as they listened to their children confidently express themselves and showcase their achievements.

The Parent-Teacher Meeting was a resounding success, fostering a deeper connection between parents, teachers, and their children's educational journey, while demonstrating the collaborative efforts of our educators and the active involvement of parents. Together, we create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for our young learners.
