We are pleased to share the wonderful experience the art students had during their recent field studies at the Undergraduate & Postgraduate Exhibition of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.
The work of the university students reflected diversified artistic pursuits, showing solid painting skills and the heritage of tradition on one hand, and reflected the younger generation's sensitivity to images and new understanding of painting on the other. Their experience of life and expression of concepts are expressed through bold forms and exploration of media, reflecting the consistent openness and tolerance of the School of Painting and Art of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, and the academic position of free exploration.
The field trip brought rich experience and inspiration to the students. Not only did they witness the outstanding works of undergraduates and postgraduates, but they also had the opportunity to interact with them and learn about the inspiration and creative process behind their creations. The exhibition also exposed our students to a wide range of artistic styles, techniques, and mediums at the university level. It provided an ideal platform to showcase the work of talented student artists in a variety of artistic disciplines such as digital media, textiles, interior design, product design and 3D modelling, as well as fine art including lithography, painting, and sculpture. The visit broadened the students' understanding of the diverse forms of art, and how function and beauty can be realised together.
Students explored the gallery with students from other schools and experienced the importance of art in community life. The exhibition left a lasting impression on the FCG students, who, after witnessing the innovative methods employed by the university students, became highly enthusiastic and motivated to experiment with different techniques and mediums of expression. The experience inspired them to push creative boundaries, explore unique artistic voices, and experiment with risk-taking ideas and inspiration in their own work.
Overall, the field trip opened the door to the art world for the students and gave them a first-hand experience of what it is like to study art in a large school. We believe that this experience will surely bring them a lasting impression and inspiration for their future creative path.
