The MYP Drama programme at our school has greatly benefited from the Apple Distinguished Schools initiative and the school’s integration of iPads and iMovie into the curriculum. Grade 7 students are currently learning how to film and edit using iPads and iMovie as part of their drama lessons.

This technology integration has opened up exciting new possibilities for the drama students. They are now able to capture high-quality footage of their performances and learn valuable technical skills in filming and editing. Using the iPads, students can experiment with different camera angles, shot types, and editing techniques to enhance their filmed pieces.

The iMovie software provides a user-friendly platform for students to edit their footage, add music and sound effects, and polish their final products. This allows the students to develop a more sophisticated understanding of the filmmaking process and apply their dramatic skills in a new medium.

The results have been pleasing, with students producing polished, creative filmed performances that showcase their acting abilities and technical proficiency. This initiative has been a valuable addition to the MYP Drama curriculum, providing students with 21st-century skills and innovative ways to express their artistic talents.
