In the second inquiry unit of this semester, the children have been fully engaged in a series of activities about products. Delving into the second line of inquiry: ‘Changes products go through’ we explored the complex and diverse production process of clothing and observed the wonderful transformation and developmental stages that different products go through before  making their way into our lives.

The children, filled with genuine curiosity and delightful surprise, witnessed the magical process of silkworms spinning silk and forming cocoons. Consequently, they gained an in-depth understanding of the secrets of silk, as the origin of this exquisite fabric has a long and interesting history.

During the hands-on activity of classifying fabrics, students touched and carefully observed different materials. This helped them identify the unique features of each fabric and deepened their understanding of fabrics.

In the creative design stage, students used their imagination to create unique clothing for miniature models. They applied what they learned about fabrics to their designs and enjoyed the entire process, from coming up with initial ideas and sketching, to presenting the final "finished product."

The children have developed a deeper understanding of the concept of "product changes". We look forward to their continuous exploration and progress in subsequent inquiry activities.
