In the past two months, students in grades 4 and 5 have been exploring the world of Chinese language learning, gaining a wealth of knowledge and personal growth. Let's take a moment to reflect on our vibrant journey in Chinese language studies and see the proud accomplishments our classmates have achieved!

Reading and Sharing

The regular reading sharing sessions held in class have become a stage for students to showcase their talents. Each time, everyone prepares diligently to share their favourite books, interesting stories, and the insights they’ve gained with their peers. Some students create beautiful hand-drawn posters, vividly illustrating the exciting plot points of the books; others transform into little orators, passionately narrating the joys and sorrows of the characters, making those who haven’t read the book eager to dive in. Through these sharing sessions, we not only enhance our reading comprehension skills but also develop our expressive abilities and self-confidence.

Performing Textbook Plays

Bringing the stories from our Chinese textbooks to the stage is one of the students' favourite activities! For example, the G4 students meticulously arranged the textbook play "Xi Men Bao Governs Ye," bringing the story to life. During the performance, students not only deepened their understanding of the text but also honed their teamwork and expressive skills. The memorable moments from those performances still linger in our minds.

Creating Electronic Posters as Multimedia Presentations

In fifth grade, students learned to create New Year's posters using various methods to present their learning outcomes, such as electronic posters or hand-drawn designs. They needed to gather information, organise text, and select appropriate images, ultimately showcasing their work through slideshows or handmade posters. This not only reflected their ability to collect and integrate information but also demonstrated their depth of understanding of the Chinese language.

Recording Videos as Multimedia Presentations

Through recording videos the children unleashed their creativity by sharing their Chinese language learning achievements through this visual medium, enhancing their expressive skills, especially their confidence in front of the camera.

Reflecting on this stage of our Chinese language learning journey, students have put in hard work and reaped fruitful rewards. Of course, learning Chinese is a long-term journey, with more knowledge waiting for us to explore and more exciting experiences ahead for us to create.
