At the Middle School assembly, two students, G6 Shirly Wang and G8 Gary Zheng introduced the tasks for the action phase of the character education with the theme of "Humility" to all the teachers and students. The main content of this newsletter is the recorded introduction given by these two students, enabling everyone to understand the process of the character education theme.

"Humility in Action: Teens & Toddlers Share Joy"

Last week, our Middle School "Humility" character education programme shifted into high gear!  Students became changemakers.

Our MS volunteers became "Humble Mentors," guiding our preschoolers in paper cutting on Wednesday, then captivating them with storytelling on Friday.

Through humble service and cross-age connections, we brought our core values to life in the most heartwarming ways. As we brought timeless lessons to life through bilingual tales of "The Empty Cup" and "Da Vinci's First Egg," something magical happened in the sparkle of children's eyes. In that luminous moment, clarity dawned: true humility isn't shrinking oneself smaller, but expanding one's vision to embrace others wholeheartedly.

Many shared, "Helping others brought us unexpected joy—we can’t wait to do this again!" Now, let’s relieve these cross-age connections through our highlight photos!

What truly moved us was witnessing these middle school volunteers surrender their cherished lunch breaks—not for points or praise, but to embark on a journey of selfless storytelling. Their quiet dedication redefined humility: not self-diminishment, but as a radiant act of seeing beyond oneself.

Humility

From Ms Vivi

Watching them wordsmithing narratives for The Three Artisans, polishing each phrase until complex wisdom became toddler-sized truths, I marveled at their spontaneous creativity, conjuring tales from mundane toy tanks to captivate an audience of three-year-olds. In these moments, our typically boisterous teens consciously softened their brilliance, channeling their energy into sparking wonder in tiny hearts.

Humility

This intergenerational exchange became alchemy—where teenagers' humble service and children's rapt attention fused to transform abstract virtues into living conversations. Through the sacred cycle of giving-reflecting-growing, humility ceased to be a textbook concept and blossomed into hands-on truth: a gift passed between generations, warm with the fingerprints of shared humanity.
