Our G8 students recently took part in a unique and meaningful geography outdoor activity on campus — “You Are a Part of Spring.” The goal of this activity was to help students observe and experience the atmosphere of spring more deeply while also closely connecting their classroom geography knowledge with real-life experiences — learning and exploring in nature.

SpringActivity

On the day of the event, the sun was shining, and a gentle breeze was blowing. The campus was filled with the vitality and energy of spring. Students were divided into small groups, holding observation and recording sheets, and eagerly ventured into every corner of the campus. They carefully observed the growth and changes of plants while meticulously recording the names, physical characteristics, and distribution of various plant species on campus.

During the observation process, students applied their geography knowledge to analyse how terrain, sunlight, soil, and other environmental factors on campus affect plant growth. In addition to observing and recording, students actively engaged in interactive discussions. Each group shared their discoveries and insights, learning from and inspiring one another as they explored the mysteries of spring together. Through this process, students not only improved their observation and geographical thinking skills but also enhanced their teamwork and communication abilities.

The activity was met with enthusiastic participation and high praise from the students. Many of them expressed that this experience allowed them to better understand the natural environment of their campus, appreciate the beauty of spring, and recognise their close connection with nature as members of the Earth. They expressed a desire to pay more attention to environmental protection and to actively participate in environmental efforts in the future.

We look forward to more exciting activities in the future!
