SPRING

Our inquiry journey into "Exploring Guangzhou's Spring" began with boundless curiosity and anticipation. Through an engaging provocation table featuring a hair dryer, ice cubes, golden trumpet flowers, and autumn leaves, students were encouraged to explore the mysteries of spring from different perspectives. The thought-provoking question, "Why do we see new buds emerging while leaves are falling?" sparked fascinating discussions about natural cycles.

Campus Tour Activities

To immerse students in the spring experience, we ventured on a campus exploration. Armed with iPads, our young photographers captured the essence of spring in every corner - from tender buds and blooming flowers to cheerful birds. Each photograph represented their unique interpretation of the season.

Spring Day Activities

During our art sessions, students crafted spring vases using laminating sheets as frames, arranging flowers with creative flair. These artistic creations served as both decorative pieces and snapshots of spring's beauty through their eyes.

Our "Colour Hunt" activity celebrated spring's vibrant palette. Students scoured the campus matching natural objects - flowers and branches - to different hues. From crimson reds to sunny yellows, emerald greens, and delicate pinks, this exploration deepened their appreciation of nature's diverse colours.

Plants on Campus

A visiting plant expert enriched our learning by guiding students through the campus flora. Students learned about plant names, characteristics, and growth patterns, fostering a deeper connection with our campus greenery.

Care for Nature

When students discovered deceased birds on campus, they took meaningful action by creating and hanging bird feeders in trees. This initiative demonstrated their environmental consciousness and understanding of wildlife conservation.

SPRING

The hands-on gardening experience involved propagating Schefflera arboricola. Students carefully handled cuttings and planted them with patience, eagerly anticipating new growth. This activity not only taught plant propagation methods but also cultivated observation skills and responsibility.

Throughout these multi-faceted inquiry activities, students explored Guangzhou's spring holistically, developing their observation, critical thinking, creativity, and practical skills. We're confident they will maintain this curiosity-driven approach to learning, continuing to discover and appreciate the world's wonders.
