     Grade 9 IGCSE Computer Science

The Grade 9 students have embarked on a fascinating journey into the world of programming! They are currently learning the basics of programming using the AI Magic School platform and the IDEA compiler. Recently, they attempted to code a “Rock, Paper, Scissors” game, which was not just a programming exercise but more like a treasure hunt adventure.

The students shared their code with each other as if exchanging treasure maps. Some used if - else statements, while others chose switch - case statements. By comparing different methods, they discovered the unique advantages of each approach.

They also observed different coding styles: some students’ comments were like considerate little tour guides while others’ code structures were like intricate little mazes.

In the project, the students also learned about loop statements, including the flexible application of while loops and for loops. They explored how to use while loops to create continuous gameplay until a certain condition is met, and how to use for loops to execute a block of code a specific number of times. These practices not only deepened their understanding of fundamental programming concepts but also enhanced their logical thinking and teamwork skills. The students’ enthusiasm for computer science continues to grow, and they are excited to explore more in this magical world!

Grade 10 Computer Science

After two years of dedicated effort, Grade 10 IGCSE Computer Science students have successfully completed their exams this week. This milestone marks the culmination of an intensive journey during which they have developed a deep understanding of various computer science concepts and honed valuable technical skills.

Throughout the course, students have gained a solid foundation in computer systems, including how hardware and software interact, data representation, and the workings of modern technology. They have also mastered pseudocode demonstrating their ability to design, plan and structure algorithms effectively, which is a critical skill for problem-solving in programming.

In addition to these core topics, students were introduced to robotics and artificial intelligence exploring how these fields are shaping the future. These lessons have inspired curiosity and encouraged them to think critically about the role of technology in our world.

The stuents’ dedication to learning has been evident throughout the course with special effort in recent weeks to prepare for their exams. The students have not only worked hard but have also grown immensely in their confidence and capability as computer scientists.

We are confident they will achieve excellent results in their exams and hope they continue this journey into A-level Computer Science. Their perseverance, curiosity, and enthusiasm have set a strong foundation for future success. Well done, Grade 10!

Grade 11, 12 A-Level Computer Science

The Grade 11&12 A-Level Computer Science students have entered the final sprint towards their A-Level exams. To help them prepare effectively, we have provided them with comprehensive review materials, including past papers, notes, and an AI knowledge base. These resources cover all the key content of the course and also offer a large number of practice questions and mock exams to help students consolidate their knowledge and improve their problem-solving skills. The students have been actively engaged in review activities, using these materials for systematic study to ensure they perform at their best in the exams. Their hard work and focus have been truly impressive, and we are confident that they will achieve excellent results in their A-Level exams.
