When looking at workers, students thought about the costs and benefits of investing in their own skills and careers. We discussed how staying competitive matters, especially with technology and global changes making some skills more valuable than others.

For firms, students discovered that bigger isn’t always better—sometimes, growing too much can actually make a business less efficient, a concept called diseconomies of scale. We also covered the different types of costs businesses face and how these influence decisions about prices and profits.

Throughout the unit, our main goal was to keep things relatable. Students made connections between economic concepts and their own experiences, from pocket money to future job choices. They learned that economics isn’t just about numbers—it’s about understanding the decisions people and businesses make every day.

We hope these lessons help students feel more confident when making choices in their own lives, now and in the future!

During the crucial CIE official examination period in May and June, G10 and G11 students are sparing no effort in their final sprint for preparation. In May, we successfully completed the practice of essay-based exam papers. Through these practical exercises, students have gained a deeper understanding of the answering techniques and knowledge application for economic essay questions. Currently, everyone is actively identifying and filling in knowledge gaps, strengthening their study on weak points to achieve the best performance in the exams. In the upcoming June, students will face the challenge of the final multiple-choice question paper. It is believed that with solid review and unremitting efforts, they will surely achieve excellent results in the exams.
