Our EY3 students have been shining bright in phonics! With the help of the Jolly Phonics programme, they’ve been learning the 44 sounds of the English language—and we’re excited to share that most of them already recognise nearly every sound. By the end of the semester, they'll know them all!
In the EY, we place a strong emphasis on phonics and early reading skills, as they form the foundation for lifelong learning. Through daily practice, engaging lessons, and a playful approach to literacy, our students are developing the tools they need to become confident and enthusiastic readers.
The children are truly engaged, enthusiastic, and eager to learn. They love the songs, actions, and stories that bring phonics to life. Their genuine interest in phonics shines through, as these Little Deers often choose to explore the many phonics resources provided by teachers in the literacy area during free play! Their daily routine has helped build confidence, and many are already starting to blend sounds and read simple words on their own.
It has been a joy to watch their passion for reading grow. Their progress is a testament to their hard work, curiosity, and love of learning. Let’s keep cheering on our phonics superstars as they continue to make fantastic strides!
