This semester has seen continued growth and development within the Senior School Physical Education programme at FCG. With a sustained focus on basketball, football, and swimming, our students have demonstrated outstanding commitment, enthusiasm, and skill across both lessons and competitive fixtures.
Throughout the semester, students have engaged in a well-structured curriculum that emphasises not only the acquisition of fundamental techniques, but also the importance of positive participation and collaborative team dynamics. The progression in individual and group performance has been evident in lessons and during inter-school competitions.
We are proud to report that over 50 competitive fixtures have been contested this year as part of the East Guangzhou Conference, with our girls’ and boys’ football and basketball teams producing some exceptional performances. Their determination, tactical awareness, and collective spirit have been a credit to the school, and we applaud the way they have represented FCG.
In addition to our core sports, students have had the opportunity to explore a broader range of physical activities including rock climbing, badminton, and table tennis. These pursuits have proven valuable not only in enhancing physical fitness but also in developing vital personal attributes such as resilience, strategic thinking, and problem-solving. We believe that exposing our pupils to diverse sporting experiences plays a critical role in nurturing well-rounded young individuals.
We are currently progressing through our swimming unit, where students have been refining their aquatic skills in a structured and supportive environment. Swimming is an essential component of our curriculum providing a full-body workout, enhancing cardiovascular health, and fostering vital water safety awareness. It has been particularly rewarding to witness students grow in confidence and competence in the water.
As we approach the conclusion of the semester, we reflect with great pride on the achievements of our students, both in the classroom and in competition. Their dedication to sport continues to enrich our school community, and we look forward to building on this success in the years ahead.
