In order to broaden children's horizons and develop their love of nature and life, FCG Early Years organised a trip to Chimelong Wildlife Park to carry out a range of research activities.

Children encountered a variety of wild animals such as giant pandas, giraffes, lions, and elephants up close.

When we saw a cute giant panda gnawing on bamboo shoots, the children couldn't help but cheer ! When we spotted the giraffe, everyone was interested in the pattern on it’s fur and shape of it’s neck. When we saw the lion, from a safe distance, we thought it looked majestic!

Teachers and local guides encouraged discussions of the different animal habits and encouraged children to observe the features and behaviours of different animals.

Taking learning beyond the classroom supported learners to build meaningful connections between their learning and the real world.
