Our young learners have been diving deep into our Unitof Inquiry, ‘Our Community,’ with wonderful enthusiasm and collaboration.
The children worked in teams to investigate the manydifferent roles that make a community thrive. Students worked collaborativelyto build their own tall towers using spaghetti and marshmallows, we aimed tobuild our very own Canton Tower!
Through research anddiscussion, they took a deep dive into the world of work, exploring everythingfrom healthcare and teaching to engineering and the arts. We also explored thedifferent roles that our own parents play in the community by taking a look thejobs you do. Students were very enthusiastic to learn more about their classmates’parents and their role in the community.
The unit culminated in afantastic ‘Future Careers Day,’ where our pupils arrived dressed as the jobsthey aspire to—a vibrant and inspiring sight! It has been a joy to see themconnect their learning to the wider world and dream big about their own placewithin it. Well done to all our future community builders!
